Design Final
For your Final you will demonstrate knowledge that you have gained over the last nine
weeks during this course. If you have paid attention to my demonstrations and put
your all into each project you should do just fine. At this point I know what each and
everyone of you are capable of doing and I expect to see your best effort, concentration,
creativity, originality and focus on this final design project.
Band Poster
For your final you will be working for my record label as a graphic artist where you
will be designing a poster for one of my up and coming bands. Remember I am
commissioning you (not for real) to do the artwork so you will be meeting my demands
and criteria’s as this design progresses. It is imperative that we meet at least twice
during this process to make sure I like the decisions being made and the imagery that
is being created. I can’t fire you from the project but I can fail you if you don’t put your
all into it and meet my demands. Below you will find 10 band names to choose from,
and no you can’t make up your own band name because my bands will be famous some
day and yours wont be. #DEALWITHIT. I also need to make it clear that for your final I
am only a CEO which means I can only give advice, no actual help, so wear you big kid
pants and rock on!! P.S this final project is worth 20% of your final grade.
Band Names (Indie Rock/Rock)
Dark Matter Rusty Street Band Forgotten Growth Body Of Sound
Steel Pig Sound Villains The Protons Lipstick Executioners
Robot Ruins The Scarecrows
Final Requirements:
* Six thumbnails of six different design ideas. This doesn’t have to be six drawings
per band name, it can be from multiple bands.
* Two meetings with CEO (Mr. Cilley) to pitch design ideas
* Rubric and writing response
* Finished band poster 18x24 in size, poster must include font, color, and
* Presentation of design with Q/A Last day of Class
If you are stumped for ideas I would strongly urge you to go online and look at band
posters for ideas. I also would suggest you look at the art elements and design
principles for help.
